Players Discovered by Heartland at Grassroot Tournament
In the bid to strengthen the club playing staff, The management of Heartland FC of Owerri have discovered two talented players at the second Edition of the Ikukuoma Mbaise Unity Football Tournament.
This was made disclosed by the Naze millionaires Acting General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu during the kick off of the football competition at Ezeagbogu Secondary School Play Ground, with 2019/20 Champions, Okpofe FC playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Nnarambia FC.
Recall that, Okpofe FC defeated Nnarambia FC to lift the trophy in the 2019/2020 edition.
The match was witnessed by dignitaries led by the Federal House of Representatives Member representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Constituency, Hon. Emeka Chinedu, Mbaise Crown Prince, Emeka Anyanwu, PDP chairman in Ezinihitte, Hon Modestus Njoku.
According to the sponsor of the competition, Chief Summers Nwokie, The competition was organised to discover and nurture talents in Mbaise who would be able to export their careers to the big football leagues around the world.
Speaking, The Director General of the foundation. Mr Julius Nneji, said other preliminary matches in the competition will be played in different venues across the three Local Government Areas of Mbaise nation as medical and security of the teams have been taken care of by the organsers of the tournament.
