CENN foundation Football club of Mbaise returned to winning ways in an extraordinary fashion when they came from one goal down to defeat Edu-win Football Club to cruise into Quarter finals knockout Stage of the OISA football tournament on Saturday December 24th at the stadium in Ngor Opkala, Imo state.

Eduwin fc prolific striker Promise drew first blood when he lashed on a defensive error to net the curtain raiser giving his side the advantage early into the first half .

The goal signaled a wake up call for team CENN FC as they resumed play firing on all fronts to secure an equalizer but non was forth coming as the first half ended with Eduwin fc retaining the lead.

The second half began with a much more aggressive attacking play from the Mbaise side who pressed Eduwin giants to their own half in the bid to get an equalizer but their efforts did pay off 15 minutes into the second half when Super sub Elegam Onwuzuruigbo slotted home the equalizer with a rebound ball from close range.

The Mbaise based side CENN FC having secured the equalizer pressed further for the winner and the winner did come 10 minutes after the equalizer when the fierce central defender Chika Obasi rose above every other player to head home a corner kick, giving CENN FC the lead for the first time in the tournament.

The game balanced after the lead as both teams brought their A game in the bid to get more goals. Both teams blew away a couple of chances and none could convert another chance as the game ended 2-1 in favour of CENN FC.

With this win, the YSFON champions are now placed second position in group A with 3 points and and will now face their next rival which is the first in group C in the quarter finals knockout stage on Wednesday the 28th of December and as for Eduwin Fc, this will be the end of the road for them.

The next opponent which is yet to be identified will be revealed in the coming days as CENN FC will consolidate on their winning formula in the knockout stages.

Recall that CENN FC lost their opening fixtures against Ogbe city 2-0 who now top the group A.
