Imo Sports Commissioner congratulates Heartland Fc on victory over Dakkada Fc

The Imo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Dan Chike Ogu heartily congratulates Heartland FC of Owerri on their win over their opponents from Uyo, Dakkada FC that they beat by one goal to nothing in the match day three of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Naze Millionaires earned their first victory of the new season courtesy of Jonas Emmanuel's seventieth minute stunning strike which is a clear contender for goal of the season award in a keenly contested game that Heartland FC dominated for most of the duration.

Speaking after the game at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Hon. Ogu was full of praise for the players resilience and doggedness. He stated that "They did very well. I’m so impressed. Heartland Fc is a very good team, they were very organized but there's room for improvement in all departments. Thank God you put in all your strength and you listened to instructions from the technical crew and were able to come out victorious."

The Sports Commissioner who made a promise to reward the team with one hundred thousand Naira per goal as a way of motivating the players redeemed his pledge after the game and reiterated that the welfare of the team is paramount to the Governor Hope Uzodimma led administration that is sports loving and assured that the team will continue to be duly taken care of.

He charged the Hassan Abdallah tutored Scientific Boys to remain resolute, focused and vibrant as well as put in more efforts as they challenge for the title and set their sights on continental football next season.

He also thanked the fans and supporters club for the loud cheers and support for the team during the game and urged them to continue to play their part in cheering the team to victories.

Heartland's next NPFL game will be away from home against the Fidelis Ilechukwu led Plateau United on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022.
