Heartland Queens Fc of Owerri were in dominant form as they thrashed Ubakala Queens Fc of Umuahia by three unreplied goals on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
The encounter was another of a series of friendly games lined up for the Owerri Land Ladies aimed at keeping them fit and improving on their skills and technique as the Nigeria Women Football League Championship approaches.
A goal each by Lucky Mary, Joan Etenkpa and Ugobest Osuji in the first half of the game was enough for the Queens who seek a return back to the premier league to carry the day.
The Sports Commissioner commended Heartland Queens who outplayed Ubakala Queens for long periods in the game and also had greater ball possession and a higher number of goal attempts for proving their mettle once again but urged them not to rest on their oars.
He charged the ladies and the technical crew to further improve as the Shared Prosperity Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma will continue to solidly support the team to get back to national and international glory.
Heartland QueensFc will play the return game against Ubakala Queens Fc at Abia state on the 13th of February, 2022.
