Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ogboko in Ideato Local Government of Imo state has officially been approved by the National University Commission NUC, to officially offer full academic activities for the accredited courses.
At a hand over event held today at the headquarters of the NUC in Abuja, The Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma, received the letter of recognition from NUC which approved the University as the 42nd State University in Nigeria and the 143rd in the Nigerian University System, which remains consistent with the Commission's earlier communication dated April 2016.
While presenting the letter, Professor Abubarkar Adamu Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, congratulated Governor Uzodimma and assured him of the commission's readiness to assist the state in her academic strides.
Recall that following the recovery of the institution by the Uzodimma Adminstration from the past administration of Senator Rochas Okorocha, who converted it to a personal property, the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) passed a law establishing the K. O Mbadiwe University, Ogboko
