The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has expressed sadness over the death of another Military Governor of Imo State, Col. Tanko Zubairu, who died recently after a brief illness.
Col. Tanko Zubairu served as military administrator of Imo from Aug. 22, 1996 to May 29, 1999, when he handed over to a democratically elected Government in the 4th Republic, has been described by Governor Hope Uzodimma as a patriot at heart and strategist in action.
The Governor eulogized the Late Colonel for his courageous approach in handling the crises of stiff opposition and riots that confronted his regime. Despite these, the Colonel was able to actualize developmental strides in the area of infrastructural construction and prominently the Family Support Program (FSP) of his regime.
Governor Hope Uzodimma commiserated with the family, the Government and good people of Kaduna State over the loss while praying for God to repose his soul and grant all those Zubairu left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
