Uzodimma not after self-aggrandizement -Agogbuo
The indefatigable Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Hon Chinonye Agogbuo has described the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma as a dogged and tenacious leader,. who is determined to bring dividends of Democracy to majority of Imolites, rather than seek self aggrandizement or cheap popularity. Hon Agogbuo made this known when he played host to members of the APC student wing of the various tertiary institutions in the state in his office on Friday.
The amiable and energetic chairman of APC in Mbaitoli LGA opined that Uzodimma in just two years in office has changed the narrative in governance of Imo state for good, noting that Imolites are now seeing the bright light at the end of the tunnel. He said that Imo state has not witnessed the level of development as being seen today since the days of Late Sam Mbakwe and encouraged the governor not to be demoralized or dispirited by enemies of the state.
He expressed happiness that the students are already exhibiting leadership skills in their campuses by taking up positions to serve their follow students. He urged them to prepare to take over power by making themselves relevant through acquiring of knowledge. He noted that Youths make up a large percentage of voters, and so should use their numbers to determine what happens at the center as big players in the electioneering processes. He promised to convene their message of solidarity and support to the governor and admonished them to continue to support the governor and by extension, the party. He charged the youths not to be agents of destruction.
He said " Our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma is a youth and gender friendly Governor, he has supported the youths by not just organizing various empowerment programs, but, by ensuring that youths form fulcrum of his government, he has given the Youths positions of trust in his Government. I call him ' Dee Hope Uzodimma' because as late Dee Sam Mbakwe, he has transformed our state to the extent that his greatest critics are marvelled.
"Ensure you get your PVCs, Youths must he prepared to take over leadership, I am happy a lot of you are already enhancing yourselves in your school by taking up leadership positions. My doors are always open to welcome you at any time for dialogue and way forward".
Earlier in his address, the coordinator of Imo APC student wing and NANS leader in the state, Comr. Joy Gerald, thanked Hon Agogbuo for accepting to listen to them. He noted that they were on a solidarity visit to the chairman to look for ways to harmonize with the party in order to contribute their quota to it's upliftment. He pleaded for the party to make arrangements to bring INEC to the various campuses for students to register for their PVCs. He eulogized the governor for all the empowerment programs he has done so far and promised to continue to support the party.
