USAID TEAM VISITS IMO STATE

Dr Joachim Ezeji, Phd, Program manager, Water Resources Management & WASH, Economic Growth & Environment office, USAID, US Embassy Abuja led a team of officials of USAID and Mercycorp USA to Imo State Water & Sewerage Corporation.

The team are in Owerri for a 2 day working visit and to formally introduce the Ag Chief of Party MercyCorp Mr Maxwell the USAID Contractors.

In his welcome address the MD/CEO ISWSC Engr EMEKA Ugoanyanwu thanked the USAID for returning to the state to complete their side of the commitment as enshrined in the MoU signed with His Excellency Gov Hope Uzodimma in 2020.

He recalled that His Excellency fulfilled all obligations in the MoU and accomplished all milestones required of the state. He assured the USAID that this partnership with imo state can only grow stronger as HE Senator Hope Uzodimma is a WASH friendly Governor committed to restoring WASH services in the state.

In his address the SA to the Governor on Urban Water Supply, Hon Tanana Oliv'tan Biaduo expressed his profound appreciation to USAID for keeping to their promise to complete their remaining obligations to Imo State after His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma has achieved the required implementation milestones.

"The commitment to assist Imo State restore safely managed water supply is highly appreciated by the government and good people of Imo State" Hon Biaduo stated.

The SA Public Enlightenment Prince Ugochukwu was at ceremony.

The MD later took the team to the office of the Hon Commissioner Lady Ann Dozie for further interaction.
