Monday, May 16th 2023 was a day of joy, jubilation and delight in the Umunoha/Azara Ward of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC as a foremost grassroots mobilizer and staunch member of the jilted and moribund Opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mrs Patience Nwokocha from Isieke Azara-Obiato Autonomous Community in Umunoha/Azara Ward made the valiant, valorous and courageous move with hundreds of her supporters/political soldiers to the APC at an event attended by the members of Umunoha Azara Ward executives.
Speaking at the event,an elated Patience Nwokocha noted that her motive for joining APC is because of the way the party is organized starting from the ward to the national level, she said that Governor Hope Uzodimma's 3R Shared Prosperity Government has delivered unprecedented dividends of Democracy to Imolites despite the numerous challenges confronting the state. Hon Nwokocha described her entry to the APC as a strategic one, coming at a time when the electioneering processes are it's very peak, she said that with the support of her supporters/Political soldiers, victory is assured for the party in the elections.
Welcoming Mrs Nwokocha to the party, the dynamic and visionary chairman of Umunoha/Azara Ward, Hon. Ndudi Nwokocha (not related to Mrs Patience) noted that equal rights will be granted to her and her supporters in the party, he said that APC is the only party on ground in the state and has wonderful plans for Imolites. He appreciated Governor Hope Uzodimma for providing purposeful leadership in the state as can be seen by the landmark achievements of his administration so far.
Hon Ndudi opined that APC in Umunoha/Azara ward is united, peaceful and ready for the battles ahead, he said that under his leadership, members of the opposition in the ward are jittery and are criss crossing to the APC on a regular basis, he gave kudos to his executive team for always being supportive.
In their various speeches, the Wards'publicity secretary, Hon Obinna Elekwachi, Mrs Ijeoma Nwawuba and a leader in the ward, Hon Mike Obiagwu thanked Mrs Patience Nwokocha for taking the bold step of leaving the darkness of PDP and switching to APC. They noted that politics is a game of ' Let us go' and never a one man show,saying the more the merrier.
Highpoints of the occasion was the public tearing of her PDP membership card by Mrs Patience Nwokocha, she was immediately registered in the APC by the Chairman,Hon. Ndudi.
