Uche Nwosu: Alleged Assassination Plan?

Uche Nwosu: Alleged Assassination Plan?

When we want to lie, we should at least try to lie with some respect to those we expect to chew these lies. One of the reasons our political leaders do a lot of silly things is because they have the least respect for us. They believe we are fools and we have no brains to think anything through. That's why when they want to lie about issues, they tell some of the easiest to puncture lies.

Why would anybody be working so hard to pass the impression that those who arrested Ugwumba Uche Nwosu meant to kill him? Now, while I continue to condemn that silly operation by the police, I must, as an elder statesman and a prisoner of conscience tell you, that from the facts available to the public, there was not a single plan to assassinate that fine gentleman.

Our dear former governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha confirmed that a private jet was already steaming in waiting at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, from where Ugwumba was flown to Abuja. How could you want to kill someone and pin it on Unknown Gunmen, yet hire a private jet to fly him to Abuja?

You said that when they got to Njaba bridge, the gunmen discussed killing Ugwumba off? If they could kill him at Njaba Bridge, why didn't they shoot him dead at the Church where they picked him from? The truth is that if the guys had assassination anywhere near their plans, they could have shot through at the Church and wasted even more lives and there is hardly anyway they wouldn't be able to escape, if they had government support.

The only reason the many security men deployed to guard Ugwumba and provide security during the funeral activities stood down would be that the policemen who effected this arrest properly introduced themselves to them. A police team deployed to assassinate someone wouldn't provide their true identity to another police team.

Yes, assassins could wear police uniforms or even Army uniforms, but in most cases they are not police officers, they would just be impersonators. As at today, the Nigerian Police Force has not denied that the men who went on that operation are their men. Until, they do, we should be careful not to malign the Police Force as assassins.

I had warned that some of these media carnivals are not necessary. When we are quick to run to the media, we are bound to make some silly mistakes. Our dear former governor might actually be worsening matters for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu by bringing him in direct conflict with the Police.

The direct implication of what you are telling the world is that Nigeria maintains a criminal gang of political assassin in the name of the Nigerian Police Force?

I shall continue to be nonpartisan, as long as this issue is concerned, but I will try to burst every single lie, no matter where it is coming from. We cannot reduce matters like this to mere political conspiracy.
