THE RED CAP; NEVER YOU REINFORCE FAILURE: PRESENTING THE IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE ALTERNATIVE.
It feels good to be back my people, I took a much-needed short break/trip to Ideato to see things for myself, so that when we discuss our affairs here, it will be from a good vantage point and in conformity with the reality on ground.
On Easter Sunday 17th of April, I took the Ntueke- Isiekenesi route to Mbaise, and while I drove all through Ideato roads that are capable of inducing pregnancy miscarriage, the statement by President Olusegun Matthew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo kept resonating within me “Never reinforce failure, let failure be failure”.
Baba Iyabo made this statement sometime in 2019 while playing host to young Nigerians Chima Anyaso and Moses Siasia, who were seeking answers to the many problems bedeviling the country.
He didn’t stop at charging them never to reinforce incompetence, he went further to advice them to do everything possible to do away with failure, lest they become victims of incompetence they detest.
As usual with an open mind and sincerity of purpose, I invite you to this discourse on the pitiable state of Ideato nation.
Before we proceed, I would like to ask this honest question, ARE YOU IMPRESSED WITH THE CONDITION OF IDEATO? Over here the answer is an emphatic NO!
month ago I was in the North-eastern part of Nigeria on the invitation of His Excellency Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, after the trip I was in the Southern part of the country, and saw how their roads were steadily maintained, the topography notwithstanding, the same topography that was always used as an excuse in Ideato.
Travelling from Abuja to Ideato, Government presence is felt from Kogi state to Enugu state, even our neighbors Aguata in Anambra state have roads in good condition, but immediately you get into Ideato, you are met by death traps as roads, with no sign of government presence.
From my many trips to the different parts of the country of recent, I make bold to say that I have never seen roads as dilapidated as our roads in Ideato.
All through the one week I stayed in Obodoukwu, not foronce did we experience power supply from the PHCN.
Our dear Ideato is decaying and it is not even gradual in nature.
When you ask what our representatives are doing to draw government attention to our plight, you are reminded how the WAEC fees of students who never had any proper learning environment was paid, or how few individuals got a federal job that pays minimum wage that is barely enough for survival.
It is actually laughable what we consider achievements over here.
recall asking some of my friends why they were rooting for the candidacy of this individual during the 2019 election, they responded that unlike his predecessor, he always stopped to greet them and buy them drinks, and during festive periods he shared indomie and rice.
Today, they no longer see him, only left with a non-functional borehole project at Eke Obodoukwu to remind them always of their poor sense of judgment.
But ndi nkem ndi Ideato, all hope is not lost. The red cap has been revealed and the man behind the mask made known.He has won hearts by the way he took seriously his quest at representing us in the Green chamber of the National Assembly, his campaign has been issue driven and his reach, bullet penetrating.
Even his oppositions couldn’t help but marvel at the sophistication he brought to the polity. With Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, we have an opportunity of sending failure packing.
With Ikenga Imo, even the Peoples Democratic Party is availed the chance of correcting the anomaly of 2019 House of Representatives election.
Ikenga brings the seriousness needed in the job of salvaging Ideato nation.
Ndi nkem in whatever you do, never you reinforce failure, let failure be failure.
