SECURITY : Uzodimma Flags off the new military camp in Orlu for the Exercise Golden Dawn in Imo state.

The executive Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma has flagged off a new military exercise tagged Operation Golden Dawn in Orlu Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking at the event, the chief Security Officer of the state said that the government of Imo state will continue to support and encourage the various Security agencies in the state to succeed.

He said the essence of the new military formation is to ensure that Imo state is safe for residents and visitors especially as the Yuletide season approaches.

He commended the security agencies in the country for the creation of the outfit, describing it as timely, as the state and the entire South Eastern part of the country has witnessed a high level of insecurity of late.

He assured everyone in Imo state of government willingness to make the state a safe heaven for businesses to thrive.

Senator Uzodimma said: “This is a special period and season in the lives of not only Christians all over the world, but also the people of South East, who are predominantly Christians, and would be return home for the Christian celebration, which usually starts from October to December.”

He further stated that , “the exercise would go a long way in improving the security situation in the South East region and also give our people a sense of security and further encourage our brothers and sisters, who are resident abroad, to come home because the area is safe and secure.”

Earlier in his address, the Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Brigadier General R.T. Utsaha, told the gathering that ‘Operation Golden Dawn’ is meant to “build on the gains so far recorded over the menace of IPOB and ESN by the security agencies so far”, adding: “Security agencies are involved in the exercise.”
