An unprecedented record was set on Thursday as the Special Adviser to the Governor and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu instituted and inaugurated a piooner establishment offshot support group known as OCDA SUPPORT GROUP FOR the Executive Governor of Imo State His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Inaugurating the three Zonal and twenty seven (27)LGAs Coordinators of the Support Group in Owerri the State Capital, Engr. Chukwu charged them to be good Ambassadors of the Shared Prosperity Administration of Governor Uzodimma, adding that one of their core mandates is to mobilize and galvanize extensive support at the grassroot levels by taking down the message of the Governor's massive infrastructural projects achievements both completed and ongoing to the Imolites in their various wards, LGAs, Federal Constituencies and Senatorial Districts, pointing out that the re-election of Governor Uzodimma will indeed translate to not only the continuity but also the sustainability of the so many ongoing projects which he enumerated as the completion of the Owerri-Okigwe road which its first phase that stretches from Owerri to Amaraku has been completed, the Owerri-Mbaise-Obowo-Umuahia road,Orlu-Mgbee-Akokwa road,5KM roads respectively for the 27 LGAs of the State among others.
He re-echoed that Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated capacity, competence, courage, carriage and political will to address the most challenging of the infrastructural needs of the State by taking the bold step of executing projects that have defied previous Administrations while recalling all the challenges the Governor faced since his assumption of office in 2020 such as the Covid-19 pandemic, End SARS protest as well as serious insecurity issues, maintaining that Governor Uzodimma still absorbed all the challenges and went ahead to deliver the much needed dividends of democracy to Imolites both in terms of infrastructure and other areas of Governance which he highlighted as the distribution of palliatives across the 27 LGAs during the Covid-19 pandemic, unprecedented payment of the 13th month basic salary to Imo workers, great interventions in the Health Sector,completion of the Owerri-Orlu road, the novel Balloon Technology Drainage System, Nekede-Ihiagwa road and so on. Engr. Chukwu emphasized that the notable track records of the Governor informed the urgent need to join in the vanguard of early preparations for the re-election of the Imo State first Citizen, hence the timely institution of the Support Group.
The OCDA helmsman who announced Rt. Hon. Godwin Nwankwo as the State Coordinator of the OCDA SUPPORT GROUP FOR DISTINGUISHED SENATOR HOPE UZODIMMA, equally announced Honourables Emma Mbachu, Richard Onyeulo and Kingsley Ogueri as Zonal Coordinators for Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe Zones respectively just as he mandated them to collaborate with their various LGAs Coordinators to raise their respective Wards Executives for the deepening and strengthening of Support Group across the length and breadth of Imo State.
In their separate responses after the Inauguration, some of the LGAs Coordinators including Rt. Hon. Chigozie Nnorom-Mbaitoli ,Senior Comrade Linus Duru-Ehime Mbano,Nkiruka Nwosu-Ihitte/Uboma LGAs and others, expressed their appreciation for being found worthy and appointed to serve as Grassroot mobilizers for the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma,they pledged their commitment and dedication to deliver on the mandates given to them while calling on the Convener of Support Group Engr. Francis Chukwu to always carry them along in the scheme of things both during and after the elections.
Highpoints of the inauguration were the unveiling of the flex banner, distribution of the dressing materials as well as the introduction of the SUPPORT GROUP'S slogan by Engr. Chukwu and the recitation of the slogan by all the Coordinators.
