Since His ascendancy as the symbolic Youth leader in Nigeria's Political circuit which was before his time, defined by a doctrine fraught with negligence of the Youths in regards to handling critical positions of Import. A narrative which almost left Nigeria in the regions of what could be argued as a Gerontocracy. Governor Yahaya Bello has forged ahead to break limits, Install landmarks and make history.
The Okene born political maverick made history when In 2015, he was selected as Abubakar Audu's replacement. At barely 39, He became one of Africa's youngest political leaders and Nigeria's youngest Governor. He has in the last 6 years gone ahead to remarkably transform Kogi's Economic, Political and Sociocultural Sector, by initiating well-meaning Policies and Initiatives in Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Development, and more Importantly Youth Development.
One of the first achievements of his Excellency, Yahaya Bello was to quickly and ferociously exterminate all forms of division and Infighting amongst the major tribes of Kogi State. Before his regime, kogi was broken, dispirited and disconcerted, it was fraught by a flurry of inter tribal and ethnic crisis, In his Inaugural address, he strongly pointed out that he was committed towards rooting out all forms of Tribalism, Clannishness and Division amongst kogites, whilst giving a memorial reference to the objectives of the founding fathers. Bello has since gone ahead to achieve this laudable feat. As we know, the basis for innovation and creativity is Unity and Peace, and a leader who will succeed must first unite the people. Because no Development can Occur in an environment bereft of tranquility.
Having gotten the peoples Maximal Support, he unleashed his Scintillating and transformatory initiatives which were anchored on Security, Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructural Developments, Information and Communications, Civil Service and Pension reforms. without Equivocation, it is an Incontrovertible and undeniable fact that Governor Bello has effected notable changes in the aforementioned sectors with his NEW DIRECTION AGENDA.
Moving forward, there is no gainsaying Governor Bello has proven by his show of Immense capacity and astounding accomplishments that he is the man for the Villa Come 2023. Not just because of his Youthfulness but his Seminal Innovativeness. Come 2023, Bello will signify Nigeria's Political Redemption and return to an era of Innovation.
Since the era of Anthony Enaharo, Aminu Kano, Nmamdi Azikiwe, Isaac Adaka Boro and onward to the Second Republic Under Yakubu Gowon, who at just 31 became Nigeria's longest serving Political Leader, Nigeria is yet to regain its touch by incorporating the Input of the Youths in its Decision making radar. Bello is emerging as a major force to break that Jinx by reinventing a new Youth era, where creativity and innovation will be the order of the day.
Anthony Enaharo, for instance was Just 30 when at the 1953 Constitutional Conference he moved the Motion for Nigeria's Independence. Aminu Kano was barely 30 when he founded the Northern Elements progressive Union (NEPU), Isaac was in his late 20's when he founded the Niger Delta Volunteer force which went ahead to advocate for the rights of the people in 1966.
Arguably, Nigeria's Political and Economic status was its most defined and advanced stages under Yakubu Gowon, one of Nigeria's most virile Youth leaders. Nigeria's economy was its peak without exclusion to the high oil boom and sales. Nigeria's Agricultural Sector thrived greatly as It contributed about 40% of the Country's GDP. Surmising from this few instances, it is evident that Nigeria has been at its best when Youths were at the helm of affairs. Having replicated it at the State level against all Contradictory Circumstances, Governor Bello is surely the Chosen Vessel. Conclusively and as a matter of Cogency Let the Youths Ask themselves, how relevant can a youth be when a youth at heart, one who understands our pains, struggles and predicaments is elected to the villa in 2023.
