Aspirants vying to be the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress APC for the Mbaitoli Local Government Area House of Assembly seat in the forthcoming 2023 general elections will be signing a Peace Accord in the presence of relevant stakeholders in the party to concede defeat in good faith and remain in the party if the primary does not favour any of them. This was made known by the digital Chairman of the Party in the LGA, Hon Chinonye Agogbuo during the LGA Executives meeting hosted by the former assistant Legal Adviser, Hon Ugochukwu Osuji, who is also a House of Assembly aspirant in Mbaitoli.
Agogbuo reiterated that a level playing ground will be provided for all aspirants to showcase their popularity, noting that although money is a big factor in politics, Mbaitoli APC House of Assembly ticket will not be for the highest bidder. He opined that with the level of grassroot mobilization done so far by APC faithfuls in Mbaitoli, anyone that clinches the ticket of the party is most likely to be victorious in the main election. He encouraged the LGA executives to continually sensitize the party faithfuls on the need to revalidate/ get their PVCs using the current widow provided by INEC.
The energetic and vibrant chairman said that the Governor and leader of the party in the state has so much interest in Mbaitoli as the LGA parades the highest number of registered voters not just in the state but in the entire South East region. He described Uzodimma's stay in office as one that has been full with developmental strides in the state despite the plethora distractions he is encountering.
He described Hon Osuji as a man with a goodwill that has fought for the party in difficult times, he advised him to consolidate on his already wide reach in order to get other party stakeholders and delegates to buy -in in his vision, noting that at the appropriate time, the party will sit to harmonize on the way forward.
Speaking earlier, Hon Ugochukwu Osuji said that he is a veteran in the political landscape of Mbaitoli, he went down memory lane to illustrate how far he has gone in the propagation of the party in the LGA, noting that if given a chance, he will not disappoint the people of Mbaitoli.
