The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, has announced that the conduct of the Local Government and Councillorship Elections in the state will hold on the 12th of March, 2022 by 8.am in all the 27 LGAs of the state.
In a statement signed by the Chairperson of the Commission, Hon. Chief Mrs. Ugochi Pauline Onyeka, various constitutional backings were quoted to back up the Commission’s schedule for the election.
The statement further provided guidelines on how the Nomination Papers are to be submitted.
It Reads “Nomination Papers are to be delivered at the commission’s Head office at No 21 Orlu Road, Owerri, Imo state".
Recall that The Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, during the inauguration of the five member ISIEC team on the 2nd of June, 2020 had charged them to produce free, fair and credible elections for the third tier of Government in the State.
