IMHA Commends Gov. Hope Uzodimma On The Proposed Renovation Of 305 Health Centers Across 27 LGAs
The Imo State House of Assembly has, in a special sitting on Monday, commended the executive governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for approving the reconstruction and renovation of 305 health centers across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State.
In a motion Chief sponsored by the the Honorable member representing Nwangele state constituency and the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, the house in order paper 196 said that "WHEREAS the Government of Most Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma has been working tirelessly to ensure that Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC's) in the State are working effectively and Imo citizens have access to quality healthcare"
The house been "AWARE that the Government has already liaised with the Traditional Rulers to identify the location of existing health centers that have not been functioning, so that the renovations could be carried out".
The house particularly noted the gains of the proposed renovations, which will "enable Imo residents, especially the ones at the rural areas to have access to health care delivery service which is incompliance with the World Health Organization (WHO) mandate".
Having listed the gains, the house thereby resolved "to commend His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodinma for not only expressing concern over the health of Imo residents, but for also taking steps to see that the 305 Health centers in the 305 wards of Imo State are renovated for the optimal use of Imo residents.
Chief Sponsor of the motion was the Deputy Speaker and the member representing Nwangele state constituency Rt. Hon. Chyna lwuanyanwu. Co-sponsors included Hon. Johnson Duru of Ideato South, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi of Owerri West, Hon. Michal Njoku of Ihitte-Uboma, Rt. Hon. Uju Onwudiwe of Njaba, Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri of Oru East, Hon. Anyadike Nwosu of Ezinihitte Mbaise, Hon. Frank Ugboma of Oguta and Hon. Arthur Egwim of Ideato North.
