In the events leading to the start of the Open Campaign in September, The PDP candidate for the Imo State House of Assembly in Obowo, Hon. Chika Okafor has solicited support from the women of Okwuohia.

He made this known recently at an august meeting where he had the opportunity of speaking to the women as a guest. he painstakingly addressed critical issues regarding his candidacy and intentions to run for the Constituency's most prestigious legislative Seat. He made it known that it was his turn to run not only based on the Political tradition of Ndi Obowo, which allows a House member to run for a period of 8 Years but that More importantly so he was riding on a concession reached four years ago in which he was asked by the traditional rulers and begged by the Incumbent House member to let go of the baton when he decided to challenge the 2019 results asking him to allow the completion of his second tenure as house member. Such recision is a dent on the image of the house member and gravely his sense of character.

He concluded by stating that both their credibility and that of their posterity will be questioned if they stood aloof and watched impassively.

In his peroration, he asked the women of okwuohia to stand on the part of equity, credibility and fairness ahead of the polls. He promised that a support for him was a support for the uncommon transformation of Obowo.
