The governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma, yesterday inaugurated the State Road Safety Advisory Council (SaRSAC) for Imo State. This is a domesticated council at the state levels in compliance with the National Road Safety Strategy as approved by the National Executive Council.
The Imo State Council which is headed by the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof. Placid Njoku, constitutes of the following membership:
1. Deputy Governor (Chairman)
2. Commissioner for Transport represented by the Perm. Sec.
3. Commissioner for Works
4. Commissioner for Health
5. Commissioner For Justice
6. Commissioner for Education
7. Commissioner for Finance
8. Commissioner for Environment
9. State planning commission
10. Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
11. FRSC Sector Commander
The Council has been mandated by the governor, to work in compliance with the National Road Safety Strategy to map out key indices for road infrastructure development across the state and to ensure the reduction of road crashes on our roads.
