A frontline Philanthropist and seasoned administrator, Engr. Ronnis Emma Eronini has described love as the greatest gift from God to Mankind.
Mr. Simplicity, stated this while interacting with a group of Youths Leaders from across the 9 Local Government Areas that makes up Owerri Senatorial Zone who came to wish him a Happy Valentine's Day Celebrations. He said that Love represents the powerhouse of our hearts, brings joy, happiness, peace and above all development. He quoted Oscar Wilde who once said "A life without LOVE is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead."
He went down memory lane and narrated how Valentine's day came about, saying "Valentine's Day is celebrated in honour of the 3rd century Roman Saint, Saint Valentine. Hence, it has become a very pertinent norm in the society today.
"In the archaic, the story of Romeo and Juliet must have taught us that love is a strong bond of unity, without which it will be impossible to cohabit with one another in the present political dispensation.
"Emphatically, Love is the greatest commandment of God, even as the HOLY BIBLE state thus in Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
"From the above assertions, we can now deduce that to err is human, but to forgive is divine. Hence, we should be humane and never err on the side of caution.
"As we mark this year's Valentine's Celebrations, it is a clarion call on Religious Organizations, Government and Non Governmental Organizations as well, to demonstrate love through kindness to the downtrodden, orphans, those subjected to serve jail terms e.t.c". He stated
Engr. Ronnis Emma Eronini therefore, urged the people of Owerri and Nigeria at large to reflect on the philosophy behind the establishment of Lovers Day and always make it a habit to a "Brother's keeper" and shun a heart full of bitterness when dealing with the people around us.
He further said "Love is the only test of our time that can keep us moving in a Nation characterized by ethnic domination & marginalization, religious and marital crisis, insecurity, nepotism, political instability and economic recession. Wherefore, we should keep a civil tongue in one's head in every conversation, and allow love to take the lead. Let's showcase our love for each other today and onwards beyond boundaries. Start Loving and stop hating" he said.
