Drama as Wike chase appointees that came to celebrate Wife's birthday, Dissolves Cabinet
There was mild drama at the Rumueprikom residence of the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike as his appointees led by his Chief of Staff came to celebrate his wife's 50th birthday without invitation. We gathered that Wike who arrived at his residence when the surprise party was about starting chased everyone out of the residence including the caterers, he personally used his hand to lock the gates too.
He allegedly accused them of coming to lobby his wife with the birthday.
Meanwhile,he immediately sacked the chief of staff and dissolved his cabinet
Mr Kelvin Ebiri, the special assistant to the governor on media, who announced this in a statement on Tuesday said the dissolution of the cabinet was with immediate effect.
He added that the Chief of Staff to the governor and his Senior Special Assistant (Protocol) have been relieved of their office.
Governor Wike, in the statement, commended the members of the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the state and wished them the best in all their future endeavours.
He instructed all the former members of his cabinet to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
