Ahad of the 2023 elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu weekend received in audience candidates of the party jostling to represent both Mbaitoli and Ikeduru state constituencies respectively, Rt Hon Okey Onyekanma and Barr John Sunny Unachukwu.
Anyanwu also welcomed Dr Osmond Imoamaonyeukwu Ukanacho who won the ticket of PDP for Mbaitoli and Ikeduru federal constituency.
The PDP National Scribe also embraced the party’s aspirants from both LGAs who lost to the candidates in the recently concluded primary elections.
According to Senator Anyanwu, “all primary elections are over and candidates had emerged. The only thing left for us as committed PDP members is to embrace one another and proffer solutions that will guarantee victory to our party”
“I know how it pains to loose primaries but as brothers from one political family, we should close ranks, shun hatred and backbiting by coming together if we must win in the forthcoming elections. The reason why I assembled our leaders from both LGAs is because of your candidatures. You all know that am not running any election for now but my interest is to see all of you win” He stated.
Anyanwu charges them to work as a team and avoid gossip of any kind, advising winners to urgently reach out to those who lost out, as part of efforts to building a formidable structure ahead of the poll.
Senator Anyanwu, a PDP top notch further promised to carry the aspirants who lost out along in ensuring that every individual interest is protected.
The National Secretary further promised to meet with other candidates across the state as well as aspirants who gallantly had a hiccup in the primaries, appealing to them to put the interest of the party first before personal desires.
Anyanwu therefore charges them to work in synergy with the Owerri zonal PDP Senatorial candidate, Chief Uche Onyeaguocha, the House of Representative candidate for Mbaike, Dr Ukanacho and all leaders at the grassroots to make the contest more easier for them.
