2023: I'm A Proponent of Sustainable Empowerment~ Dr. ThankGod Ezeani
Senatorial aspirant of the People's Democratic party (PDP) for Orlu Senatorial District, seasoned entreprenuer and astute strategist, Hon. ThankGod Ezeani PhD. (Ogbaturuenyi 1) has declared that his representation would pursue efforts geared at empowering the youths sustainably.
The PDP stawart hinted this during the ongoing consultations with critical stakeholders in Orsu and Ohaji Egbema ahead of the party primaries.
Ogbaturuenyi, while promising robust, accessible, responsible and responsive representation by initiating legislation that would impact positively on the lives of the people at the grassroots, stated his passionate believe in sustainable empowerment, describing it as the ability to maintain or support a process continuously over time, while making it point blank that any empowerment that is not sustainable, is no empowerment.
He noted that the challenges of Insecurity in Orlu Zone today could be traced to lack of basic amenities, education and sustainable employment/empowerment.
He stressed that when a substantial population of youths are productively engaged, the challenges of insecurity would have been half solved.
The Senatorial hopeful, who described the youth as the 'hope and future of the Zone; promised to do his best to secure their future if given the ticket.
Ogbaturuenyi said, "I am an apostle of sustainable empowerment. I consider any empowerment that is not sustainable non- empowerment. I believe in the school of thought which says, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime". I am coming out not based on sentiment but because I have the experience and requisite credentials to selflessly represent my people” Ogbaturuenyi reiterated. Ogbaturuenyi disclosed that part of his plans is to facilitate the establishment of Cottage Industries in all the federal constituencies in Orlu Zone where a minimum of 500 youths would be gainfully or sustainably employed.
The pro-democracy activist noted that until a deliberate and practical effort is geared towards tackling youth unemployment, the zone will continue to live with the menace of festering insecurity.
Speaking further, Ogbaturuenyi said ” I don’t believe that our youths are not ready to take up profitable ventures, all that we required is to show them the practical and most assuring ways of making money, they will definitely key into whatever vocation. Our economy cannot grow or prosper if everybody is looking for political appointments. I am going to lead by example and I will always make myself available to the people.”
”I have stood by the party in trying times and I have also been rendering my little support, not only to the party but to the people of Orlu zone.
”As a Community developer, I have been contributing my quota to development of my area. In Ideato Nation, I have served as a Parliamentarian and I pursued just and dependable course for my constituency.
”So, this is the reason I humbly put myself forward before you to be your able representative in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections. I respectively urge our dear party delegates in the next the coming primary election, to cast their votes for me.
“Permit me to remind you all my people that now is the time for us to start preparing a place for the next generation” Ogbaturuenyi said.
In both Local Governments visited by the development economist, which included Orsu and Ohaji Egbema respectively, the Senatorial hopeful received a very warm reception.
