Uzodimma inaugurates new Ada Palm Plantation Board

His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, of Imo State today inaugurated the new board of Adapalm plantation under the management of Roche West Africa Limited.

Governor Uzodimma stated that the new public, private partnership arrangement underscores the determination of the Imo State Government to turn around the states economy through agriculture and industrialization.

His Excellency disclosed that the indigenes of the host communities are now co-owners of the company, assuring that going forward, indigenes "will no longer be spectators but co-owners of government companies sited in their communities.

The Governor emphasised that the new arrangement for Adapalm plantation is under a tripartite agreement with the government, the core-investor and the host communities as shareholders.

He promised to avail the board of government support without meddling in the running of the company.

In his response to the Governor after the inauguration, the new Chairman of the board of Adapalm plantation Mr. Mustapha Chike-Obi who was the former Managing Director of Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria ( AMCON) thanked Governor Uzodimma for selecting him and assured the Governor that he will give his best. He expressed delight with the presence of Mr. Uche Orji the CEO of the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund. "We will succeed - we will adhere to rules of the Imo State Government and that of Nigeria, Chike-Obi concluded.
