UPDATE: OBOWO YOUTH ECONOMIC SUMMIT
The long awaited Obowo Youth Economic Summit has come and gone. The Participants and speakers were in a high spirit to discuss the challenges facing Obowo Youths and to proffer solutions to the many Socio-economic challenges facing our Youths.
The diginiteries that honoured the event were the President General Obowo Development Association Federated (ODA) in the person of High Chief Festus Mbachu, Hon.Collins Elesiro, Hon(Mrs) Chinwendu Edomobi Amba ably represented by Comrd. Peter, Amb.Engr.Elijiah Vitus Echendu, Rachel Anyanso and other diginiteries.
The summit titled "Empowering Obowo Youth for Future Economic Challenges" was aimed at empowering, building and engaging our youths positively.
The primary purpose of the summit was to promote the wellbeing of our youths, as well as to ensure sustainable development amongst rural dwellers.
It's goals was to explore innovative ideas to tackle development challenges, provide youth with the tools to build and engage in impactful projects.
The summit will help to build young People's understanding of employment pathways, skills, innovations, enterpreuership opportunities and it will help to impact systems change.
The summit also provided the platform for young leaders to come together and to design solutions-or create new innovative opportunities amongst them.
Our expectations was to raise transformational young leaders who will takeover leadership in all sectors, to see business developers and start-ups coming up in Obowo.
To see youth being positive in various sectors of life and also to see youths who will be motivated to go into digital skills.
The Participants were privilege to ask questions to the speakers. The discussion was so interactive with alot of expectations on how challenges facing the youths can be solve which has to do with unemployment etc and solutions were also proffer on how we can make progress as a people.
The peak of the summit was the announcement of scholarship for three participants namely:
*Onwuvuariri Favour* from Alike,
*Emmanuel Chimuanya Merit* from Umuariam and
*Onwuegbuchulem Emmanuelle Chidinma* from Amuzi
Ten(10) lucky people were selected for free training printing business.
Participants submitted their form for training, while those with a good business proposal will be considered for empowerment.
Some Progressive sons of Obowo received their Meritorious Award and they are Amb.Engr.Vitus Echendu as the *Human Rights Ambassador* and Comr.Ugonna Onuoha as the *Most Proactive Community Youth Leader in the year 2022* Engr.Alpha Amuzie as *Youth Commander*, Comr. Magnus Agbakwo as *Inspirational Leader* others award nominees are Rt.Hon.Dcn.Chike Okafor, Hon.Dr.Lady (Mrs) Love Ineh,Hon(Mrs) Chinwendu Edomobi Amba,Hon.Udoka Iwueke, Jenny Anusiem,John Oguamana.
