A yet to be identified Traditional Ruler was on Sunday kidnapped by Unknown Gunmen in Owerri, Imo State.
The unfortunate incident happened at the popular Y- Junction in Ubomiri Autonomous Community in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of the state.
An eye witness told correspondents that the Monarch was abducted around 2pm on Sunday during a heavy rain in various parts of the state.
The Monarch was with a little girl believed to be his daughter when the men of the underworld who before hand had shot sporadically double crossed his car and took both him and the little girl.
As a result of the sporadic shooting, one person was allegedly killed and about two persons were injured.
According to the source, "A motorist trying to flee the scene knocked down a woman. The man, while trying to run away, crushed a woman to death.
Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, said he would confirm and get back to our correspondent.
Meanwhile, there were sporadic shootings around Okigwe Local Governments Area of Imo State on the same sunday evening.
Eyewitnesses said they started the shooting around the Okigwe roundabout and headed the road to Uturu.
