THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF ECONOMIC ADVISER HOLDS A SUMMIT FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATORS, PERSONNEL, AND POLITICIANS ON IMO INDUSTRIAL POLICY IMPLEMENTATION
The Chief Economic Adviser to the Imo State Government, Professor Kenneth Amaeshi, yesterday, 15th of December, 2022, organized a capacity building program for Imo State Local Government Administrators, Personnel, and Politicians on Imo industrial policy implementation. The summit brought to bare an ironclad revolutionary roadmap by the State to make Imo an industrial and economic nexus relevant to the global economy.
Deivering an important speech at the conference, Prof. Amaeshi analyzed the current economic situation in the State, while making a submission that the Government of Dist.Sen Hope Uzodimma has a sustainable Industrial road map that is meant to outlive his regime.
The special guest at the summit and State Party Chairman of Imo APC, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, elucidated on the importance of the summit, which will widen the understanding of participants on the industrial and economic blueprint of the present administration of Dist.Sen Hope Uzodimma. He added that Imo's industrial policy will create an enabling environment for youths in the State to engage in business ventures that will make them successful private business owners, and in turn boost the State's GDP. Hon. Ebere went further to say that the sustainability impact of the policy will span over decades and centuries.
The Imo Industrial Policy Summit, which started yesterday, ended today with participants issued with certificates of participation, copies of the Imo State Industrial Policy blueprint and *Imo Economy Digest* (a bi-annual publication on the Imo Economy), and other souvenirs.
Apart from being the Chief Economic Adviser to Imo State Government, Prof. Amaeshi concurrently holds key positions at major prestigious global institutions;
I) Chair in sustainable finance and governance at the EUI's school of Transnational Governance.
II) Chair in Business and Sustainable Development and Director of the Scaling Business in Africa Consortium.
III) Extraordinary Professor of Business in Africa at the Graduate School of Business, University of Capetown, South Africa.
IV) Visiting Professor of Leadership and Financial Markets in Africa at the London School of Economics.
