Imo state witnessed a plethora of activities today as the usual Monday Sit at Home called by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) gradually phase away.
Schools, major Markets, Parks, Banks, Public and private establishments were fully opened for business. The first time it is happening in about three months the Sit at Home lasted.
Residents were seen busy going about their normal activities, school children attending classes without any form of apprehensiveness as witnessed on most Mondays in recent times.
When our correspondents spoke to some residents at the popular Douglas market, they expressed contentment with the fact that normal activities have resumed and were optimistic that a path will be reached by the Government and IPOB to enable the impasse to be resolved.
Mr Ugonna Emma, a shop owner told our correspondents that he has missed Monday markets,he noted that many persons were suffering due to the insecurity in the state as some persons can't feed unless they step out daily to look for income.
"I am very joyous that normalcy is being restored,we are entering the Yuletide season and many people are suffering due to the steady lockdown, I know people who can hardly feed if they don't come out to transact business". He said.
Recall that IPOB had declared the weekly order to press home their demands for the release of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
However in a statement signed by its Secretary Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the group cancelled the order and asked the people of the region to go about their duties.
When ImoFlash visited Bank Road, where most commercial banks are situated, activities were in full gear as customers jostled to get into the banks. Control round about was not left out as travellers were seen on the move.
