Palm Sunday: Imo Speaker admonishes Christians to emulate footsteps of Christ
The Speaker Of Imo State House Of Assembly, Rt Honourable Barr Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh has admonished Christians to continue to follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ, embracing righteous lifestyle and preaching love among one another.
Rt Honourable Kennedy Ibeh made the remark in his message to Christians in commemoration of the 2022 Triumphant Entry of Jesus Christ and Palm Sunday.
According to Speaker Ibeh, "Christians should not be found sleeping at the duty post. They should always be awake to their responsibilities. This is because our adversary, the Devil, as a roaring lion, is awake and walking up and down, seeking whom he would distract, destroy and devour (1Peter Chapter 5 Verse 8). Therefore, for us to defeat the Devil, we must be awake in Christ, who died for the whole world, for our salvation. In the Spirit of Palm Sunday, Christians should continue to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who gave us his life for our salvation. Halleluya.
Continuing, the Rt Honourable Speaker reminded Christians that love remains the focal point of unity in the State and Nigeria at large. According to him, " Without love, there can be no development, progress, unity and peace among us. So let us continue to show love to one another, in peace and in unity, which ultimately would continue to bring progress to our dear State, Imo". The Speaker concluded.
