OCDA Ushers in year 2022 with Prayers
.....As Engr. Chukwu tasks Staff on Commitment
In ushering in a fruitful 2022 year, the Special Adviser/General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority,(OCDA), Engr. Francis Chukwu, led staff of the agency to a prayer session.
While addressing the staff, Engr. Francis Chukwu stressed the need for serious attitude to work in the New Year and cautioned against laxity by the members of Staff. He enjoined the workers to see the 13th month Basic Salary paid to them by the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma in December as a major motivation that should make the them to work harder in the New Year 2022.
He urged them to redouble their efforts in the New Year so as to ensure that OCDA generates more revenue for the State in order to assist Government execute more people oriented projects as already spelt out in the New Year's budget, warning that his OCDA led administration will continue to maintain zero tolerance to corruption and other sharp practices in line with the policy direction of Governor Uzodimma led Shared Prosperity Government.
Officiating the prayer held at the OCDA Chapel, Chaplain of the Agency, Rev. Fr. Wence Madu admonished Staff to see God as the author and finisher of their lives, adding that when they anchor firmly on God, their lives will be protected and preserved against any attack by the devil or machinations of diabolical people.
Fr. Madu stressed that workers should use their positions to render services to God and humanity, discouraged the idea of using such positions to intimidate or victimize people, noting that anyone who does so is inviting God's anger upon himself. While praying for a successful working year 2022 for all the workers, the clergyman implored them to be obedient to their superiors as they carry out their duties at the Agency.
The prayer session climaxed with the blessing of the holy water and sprikling the Holy Water in all the offices in OCDA as well as within and outside the Agency's compound by Fr. Madu in company of the General Manager, Engr. Francis Chukwu and all the OCDA Staff present during the prayer session.
