OCDA ISSUES QUIT NOTICE TO ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS OF STATE GOVERNMENT PROPERTY.
In its unrelenting efforts towards the recovery of all illegally acquired Government properties, the Imo State Government through Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the illegal shop owners doing their businesses at the Former Deaf and Dump School Ikenegbu Extension, to vacate the area.
The Special Adviser and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu disclosed this when he led the Operational Team of the Agency and some Top Government Appointees to mark the place for demolition, on Thursday.
Engr. Chukwu restated that the recovery of the property was in line with the 3R policy thrust of the Shared Prosperity Administration of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma to return all illegally acquired properties to rightful owners, including that of State Government while also maintaining that Owerri Capital Development Authority as the State Government Development Control Agency is out to sanitize the Capital City thereby creating an enabling environment for genuine investors.
While addressing occupants of the shops built at the junction, the OCDA helmsman Engr. Francis Chukwu advised them to move to the permanent sites already allocated to them by Government to set-up their businesses, stressing that there will be penalty for default on those who failed to leave the premises.
