OCDA BEGINS ENFORCEMENT ORDER TO REMOVE SHANTIES, ILLEGAL PARKS FROM OWERRI CAPITAL TERRITORY

Imo State Government through the Operatives of Owerri Capital Development Authority,(OCDA) led by the Special Adviser/General Manager Engr. Francis Chukwu, on Tuesday began the enforcement order to remove all shanties and closure of illegal motor parks in the capital city, following the elapsed ultimatum given to occupants to vacate.

Defaulters of the State Government order were seen running helter skelter to remove their properties having known that the Agency had earlier sent out an appeal to them to vacate during a wild Sensitization tour in the metropolis last year December, including sharing fliers to that effect.

Engr. Chukwu stated that he is on a mandate to accomplish the policy drive of the 3R administration of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma in restoring the Owerri master plan thereby creating an enabling environment for citizens and investors.

He urged citizens to learn to obey law and order by constituted government authorities.

According to him, "Governor Uzodimma is a due process and compassionate leader with human face and will always make policies that will bring development in our State".

Some of the areas visited included, Control Post junction, Hospital junction Owerri-Port Harcourt road, World Bank roundabout and Imo State University,(IMSU)junction.
