CSP Abattam noted that Police only on vehicular patrol are posted to the area for now, since the Njaba Local Government Area Police division was razed down by hoodlums sometime ago. The attack saw two officers killed.

“When the command got in the know of the attack, the commissioner of police immediately mobilised the command’s tactical unit to the scene to prevent the attack. On arrival, the special team were informed that the hoodlums had dashed away through the bush"

“At the scene, it was revealed that the Njaba LGA Traditional Rulers chairman, Mr Emeka Ihenacho invited and was having meeting with 15 traditional rulers of Njaba communities without alerting the police or other security agencies.

"Regrettably, two of the traditional rulers; HRH Eze S.C Osunwa of Ihebinowere Autonomous Community and HRH Eze Barr A. E Durueburuo of Okwudor Autonomous Community lost their lives in the attack while HRH Eze A. N Onyeka ( JP ) of Nkume Autonomous Community sustained gunshot injuries,” PPRO said.
