IMSG issues contract award letters for 5km per LGA Roads
The Imo state government has issued contract award letters to contractors for the first phase of the 5km per Local Government Areas promised by the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma during the last stakeholders meeting in January 2022. Mrs Ruby Emele, Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs said this at a brief ceremony at the Sam Mbakwe Excos Chambers, Government House, Owerri. She said that the first phase will cover 2kms while the award of the remaining 3kms will be done done at a later date.
Mrs Emele noted that the governor approved one month as time stipulated for the completion of the first phase and charged the contractors to deliver good jobs and on time too, saying that those that lack capacity to deliver will be dropped.
Each kilometer of road was awarded for N80m per kilometer, two contractors per LGA got a kilometer of road each.
