Imo Commissioner for Agriculture vows to promote Productivity
The Honourable Commissioner of Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Barthy Okorochukwu has assumed duty at the Ministry's Headquarters at the State Secretariat, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri.
Speaking during an interactive session he held with the management and staff of the ministry, the Commissioner expressed his profound gratitude to the Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for appointing him to serve as a Commissioner in His administration.
Dr. Barthy equally thanked the Management and Staff for the warm reception accorded to him, noting that his stay in the ministry will witness a productive and prosperous days ahead.
The Commissioner averred that he is very serious and open minded person, who would like to give every staff equal opportunity to freely come up to him for discussion on any issue that will promote productively in the Ministry.
Dr. Okorochukwu appealed for the cooperation of every staff to enable him make maximum impact in the Ministry for the period he will be there, stressing that staff must be diligent in executing any assignment given to them, as lateness, indolence and truancy will not be tolerated under his watch.
He called on all Heads of Departments to be effectively in control of their department and ensure that staff under them must be very productive and committed to their duties.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Mrs. Sabina Onwuchi welcomed the Commissioner and congratulated him on his appointment as the Hon. Commissioner to the Ministry. She assured him of the unalloyed support and loyalty of the Management and Staff.
She thanked the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for his wisdom in assigning the Caliber of professional to superintend over the affairs of the Ministry, describing the appointment as a precursor for the enviable heights the Ministry will attain in no distant time.
Present at the occasion were Directors and Heads of Departments in the ministry.
