International Human Rights Day: Imo First Lady calls for regard for Citizen's Rights

The wife of Imo State Governor, Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Uzodimma has called for the regard of the rights of every citizen regardless of the person's status in the society.

Barr. Uzodinma, who is also the Founder of a Human Rights Advocacy Program; 'Good Hope Flourish Foundation', made this known in a post on her Facebook account to celebrate The International Human Rights Day which is held on 10th of December every year.

The theme of this year's celebration is “EQUALITY - Reducing Inequalities, Advancing Human Rights”.

The full content of Barr. Chioma post reads:

On the 10th of December of every year, we celebrate International Human Rights Day as an opportunity to remind the public to acknowledge the rights of every person regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, language, or any other status.

The 2021 Human Rights Day theme, “EQUALITY - Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights” is consistent with the focus of the world in ensuring that Human Rights are not infringed upon. The National Human Rights Commission recognizes this and is adopting various activities to find solutions to the long-lasting forms of discrimination that are affecting the most vulnerable people in societies.

Various organizations and individuals around the globe are encouraging the public to keep the conversation going for an inclusive world free of prejudice.
