The Anoruo Chinonso led newly elected executives of Umuanayahu Umuakali Youth Association Naze, Owerri North Local Government Area, had on Thursday 20th January visited the Office of the Imo State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon Simon Ebegbulem, their visit were on familiarization and to lay their grievances over sharp practices going on at Alaba international, Industrial Cluster and other Markets in Naze.
The Youth president while raising their concerns frowned at how some individuals have continued encroaching/trespassing into government lands and illegal collection of revenues from traders in these Markets claiming to be agents working for the Ministry. He called on the Commissioner to look into the matter and maintained that the Youth body under his leadership will always work closely with the Ministry to avert further illegal activities in the Markets.
Comr. Ebegbulem welcomed, appreciated and commended them for bringing up the matter, he assured them that the Ministry under his watch will always bring the Youths on the same page and carry them along in all of its activities.
He said “The ministry is desirous to work with the youths and other stakeholders of communities especially where the government has interest, and we have worked harmoniously with them to sustain peace and foster progress in these areas”.
Still addressing the youths, the Commissioner intimated them that there’s nothing to worry about and emphasized on 3R government’s readiness to look into the issues raised, he went further and solicited for there support to protect government facilities in the community.
Further more, he promised to invite them subsequently for issues emanating from their complaints in a very short time .
In his thank you remark ,the Secretary of the youth body, Mr Franklin Nze thanked the Commissioner for the warmth welcome, reception and pledged their unwavering loyalty in supporting the government of Dist. Sen Hope Uzodimma the governor.
