I have come to Serve Imo with the fear of God- Uzodimma

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has said that he has come to serve the people of the state with the fear of God.

The Governor made this known at this year's Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Mass which held at Assumpta Cathedral Owerri.

He thanked the security agencies for ensuring that there was a hitch free Christmas and New Year Celebration in the state and used the opportunity to call the 'Unofficial Armed men' in the state to stop fermenting troubles and turn a new leaf.

Uzodimma told the congregation that not every Government decisions will be favourable to everyone at the same time, but, promised to surmount all the challenges bedeviling the state. He called on Politicians to always play by the rules and imbibe the fear of God.

Uzodimma said "We are here to show solidarity to the wives and relations of our gallant soldiers who lost their lives serving the nation -  to also commend our security agencies for the good work they are doing in Imo State, at least for making sure that we had a peaceful Christmas celebration last year".

"And to encourage them to  continue to do the needful in Imo State to ensure that people go about their normal businesses  without fear or molestation.

"We want to commend them because they are officially armed - we want to discourage those who are unofficially armed in Imo state -  to stop causing trouble and violence.

"We have time for everything - there is time for challenges - time for temptations, time to be happy, and time to be sober. In all, my insurance to the people of Imo State is that "I've come to serve you with the fear of God".

"We are all witnesses to the decadence that befell our state, and by the grace of God - I came, I saw - I am doing my best and by the grace of God I will conquer". Uzodimma said

Earlier in his Homily, The Catholic Archibishop of Owerri Arch Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. AJV Obinna, condemned the incessant killings in Nigeria, and especially in the State, he noted that there is fear in the land.

He said that 'Wickedness has been Scientifically Systematized' and noted that our Lord Jesus was Cruci-Humiliated and not crucified.

He called on the uniform men to desist from unnecessary intimidation of the citizens and called for peace to reign in the country.

All Progressive Congress APC, State Chairman, Dr. MacDonald Ebere Ph.D was amongst the lay faithfuls who said the Prayer of the faithful where he called for synergy amongst the citizens and the Armed men, who he urged to have a human face.

Dignitaries at the event were The Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku, The Speaker and his Deputy and all members of the State House of Assembly, APC State Chairman Dr. MacDonald Ebere and other Government appointees
