PRESS RELEASE
IMO PEOPLE COMMEND UZODIMMA ON RECOVERY OF FULL UNIVERSITY SWALLOWED BY OKOROCHA
... ONGOING RESTITUTION OF STOLEN PROPERTY TO GENUINE OWNERS
We praise Governor Hope Uzodimma for his noiseless, relentless, and result-yielding recovery of state assets which reached another milestone with today's formal recognition of the K.O. Mbadiwe University as state-owned, by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
This is no mean feat. Imo people are excited at this closure, and have taken note.
It is common knowledge that every inch of this university was financed by the state, yet the incorrigible aggrandiser Anayo Okorocha ascribed ownership to himself as parting gift after 8 years of plunder in Imo. To add insult to injury, Mr Okorocha fiercely resisted efforts to retrieve this institution from his grip. But Imo people, through Governor Hope Uzodimma, prevailed.
Parents and learners can now rest assured of smooth operations as any remaining traces of Okorocha's fingermarks on the campus have, by this NUC action, been erased, permanently.
GACIY, on behalf of Imo people also salute the governor's zeal in returning buildings, lands, rivers, forests, farms, fields etcetera, seized from Imo people by the previous regimes, following a dogged implementation of the White Paper gazzette on Land and related matters.
Having started on this righteous path of recovery, we urge our governor to press on even with the other pillars of rehabilitation, and reconstruction until prosperity touches every Imo man and woman.
God bless our homeland, Imo.
Signed:
Collins Ughalaa KSC
(Convener).
