GOVERNOR UZODIMMA PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WELFARE OF LECTURERS AND WORKERS. - Chukwu
The Special Adviser to the Governor and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu has lauded the Executive Governor of Imo State His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for the priority attention he places on the welfare of Lecturers and other workers in the State.
The OCDA General Manager, Engr. Francis Chukwu made this known while reacting to the recent disclosure of the records that show that Imo State University Lecturers have been receiving their salaries since the commencement of the ongoing Strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The OCDA helmsman noted that the Governor has yet again displayed His meekness and large heart towards the State workforce, adding that it's in a situation such as the present period that the true test of public office holders who place premium on workers welfare or otherwise, is ascertained.
According to him, "at a time when some states are finding it hard to pay workers that are carrying out their assignments, Governor Uzodimma is not only paying the entire verified and authenticated Imo workforce but also paying the striking Lecturers of Imo State University who joined their other colleagues in compliance to the ongoing ASUU Strike. A leader who has done this should be applauded." He submitted.
Engr. Francis Chukwu beckoned on the Lecturers and all the workers to show appreciation to the commitment Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated towards their welfare by taking their various works seriously and being very supportive of the Shared Prosperity Administration of the Governor anchored on the 3R policy thrust of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery.
