FUTO Chancellor, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Musdafa, the Lamido of Adamawa, graciously on Thursday hosted the members of the Alumni Association as part of activities heralding the 33rd Convocation Ceremony of the revered University scheduled for Saturday, 4th December, 2021.
Represented by The Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Mrs. Nnenna N. Oti, the Chancellor commended the Alumni group for their efforts thus far in the University, as he further enjoined them to always endeavour to give back to the institution, which remained their Alma-mater.
The VC, who was flanked by other Principal Officers of the University, did not hesitate to reiterate that FUTO could boast of well-celebrated graduates of the University who were captains of countless industries not just in Nigeria but across the global community.
The event held at the Gold Crown Hotel along Port-Harcourt road Owerri
The occasion was spiced up by wonderful performance from the FUTO Dance Troupe led by Dr. Mrs. F. N. Nwulu.
The Alumni Cocktail Night was preceded by Tree-Planting event where the VC, Prof. Oti earlier within the day led the activity by cultivating a seedling of an exotic specie known as Butea Monosperma (Flame of the Forest).
The week-long activity continues on Friday, 3rd December 2021 with the Convocation Lecture at 12pm at the University Hall of Excellence to be delivered by the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Amb. Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali.
It's noteworthy that the Public Lecture would be followed by the Students' Research and Innovation Exposition Show at the University Convocation Arena.
