First Imo Entrepreneur's Products Exhibition ends with exhibitors charged on Products Improvement
The first Imo Entrepreneur's Products Exhibition organised by the Imo State ministry of Labour, Productivity and Employment came to it's thrilling and exhilarating grand finale on Tuesday, 24th of May 2022.
Performing the closing formalities, The Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, represented by the commissioner of Finance and coordinating economy, Hon. Doris Anite charged the exhibitors on the need to continually improve on their products in order to meet up with international best practices and compete favourably with their counterparts all over the world.
Uzodimma appreciated the doggedness, stick-to-itiveness and tenacity of the commissioner of Labour, Productivity and Employment, Chief Ford Ozumba and his team for pulling off the exhibition despite the plethora of challenges encountered during the planning. He noted that government is ready for partnership with the exhibitors and will always patronize local contents, create value chain and provide ample opportunities for them to thrive through funding.
He noted that SMEs as the engine block of every economy and if properly harnessed can be transformed to the biggest of industries, he said that his administration is currently complying the database of artisans in the state and once completed,it will be a channel of communication when opportunities arises. He applauded the exhibitors for their ingenuity.
Speaking, the Commissioner of Labour, Productivity and Employment, Chief Ford Ozumba noted that the exhibition was more of a technical one and not necessarily a trade fair, he was full of praise to the Committe for surmounting all challenges to make the event a success.
He noted that the main purpose of the exhibition is to showcase Imo state to the rest of the world in terms of unique innovations, saying that plans are in top gear in ensuring that loans are provided to the exhibitors who have genuine business plans.
Highpoint of the occasion was when the Commissioner of finance was driven round in the locally manufactured electric car, she was also taken round the various stands to see the products on display.
Present at the event were, Chief Dr Okechukwu Anukuem, the commissioner of special duties, Hon. Simeon Ibeagbulam, Commissioner of Commerce,Prof. EJC Duru, commissioner of Environment, Hon. Paddy Obinna, Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Creative Arts, Hon Chidi Onyebuchi, SA on Skills to the Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okeke, Interim Executive Chairman of Imo State Internal Revenue Service, representative of Fidelity bank.
