Engr. Francis Chukwu Holds Thanksgiving Service
Expresses gratitude to God for his appointment by Governor Uzodimma as OCDA Head
A Thanksgiving Holy Mass has been held at St. Michael's Catholic Parish Umueze 1, in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State for the Special Adviser to the Governor and General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority OCDA, Engr. Francis Chukwu in appreciation to God for His Appointment to oversee the agency by the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Speaking during the event, High Chief Tony Chukwu commended Engr. Francis Chukwu for his dedication to duty and hardwork, stressing that Engr. Chukwu availed himself of the first appointment given to him to impress the Governor and that was why the Governor found him worthy to be appointed as General Manager of OCDA. He made it clear that that he never beckoned on Governor Uzodimma to appoint his younger brother as General Manager of OCDA rather the Governor did out of his own magnanimity.
In his speech, the OCDA General Manager showered encomiums on the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma for showing uncommon love to Imo Youths, while enumerating some of the strategic achievements of the Shared Prosperity Government in Ehime Mbano LGA especially through significant synergy with the Federal Government such as the ongoing Water Scheme by Federal Ministry of Water Resources which will supply water to a number of Communities when completed, the Vocational School by Ministry of Education, FERMA Rehabilitation works on some roads within and beyond Ehime Mbano LGA and so on.
Engr. Francis Chukwu appreciated his elder brother, High Chief Tony Chukwu for his exemplary lifestyle, pointing out that it was because of the fact that High Chief Chukwu is allergic to failure that has remained the reason why him and other members of the family are always challenged never to fail in any assignment given to them in order maintain the high standard set by High Chief Tony Chukwu.
The parish Rector of St. Michael's Parish Umueze 1, Rev. Fr. Valentine Ogechukwu who commended Engr. Chukwu for his thoughtfulness to return all Glory to God for His appointment as OCDA General Manager, also applauded High Chief Tony Chukwu for all that he has done and he is still doing for the church, the community and humanity at large through what he described as 'Chief Chukwu's Uncommon Philanthropy'.
Earlier in his homily, Rev. Fr. Jude Ibezimakor charged Christians to anchor on God and to be consistent in their decisions and resolutions especially in the New Year, adding that God will fix all the problems of everyone when you establish your life on Christ.
Dignitaries that attended the event were: The member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency Deacon Chike Okafor, Immediate Past State Chairman of APC Chief Barr. Marcenilus Nlemigbo, Former Imo North Senatorial Aspirant Chief Ugosly and a former Commissioner for Agriculture in the state Chief Longers Anyawu. Others included: the Registrar of Alvan Ikokwu Federal College of Education Owerri, Barr. E. S Anyanwu, the Surveyor General of Imo State Surveyor, Jude Anyadoo, former SA Special Duties Chief Regis Uwakwe among others.
