ENGR. CHUKWU FELICITATES WITH IMO ENGINEERS ON WORLD ENGINEERING DAY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 2022:
The Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor and the General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority, Engr. Francis Chukwu has felicitated with Imo state Engineers on the occasion of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, He highlited the enormity and sensitivity of the Engineering profession given the fact that it is clearly practical based and pragmatic oriented.

"The World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development was proclaimed by UNESCO at its 40th General Conference in 2019. It is celebrated worldwide on 4th March of each year since 2020. The day offers an opportunity to highlight Engineers and Engineering achievements in our modern world and improve public understanding of how engineering and technology are central to modern life and for sustainable development.
"The Theme of the 2022 edition of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development is: Build back wiser - Engineering the Future.
"As an Engineer, I understand the enormity and sensitivity of the Engineering profession given the fact that it is clearly practical based and pragmatic oriented. While I commend our Engineers so far for their relentless efforts in ensuring that solid structures are put in place in our dear State, Imo, which has in no small measure contributed to reducing to the bearest minimum the issue of building collapse, I wish to implore the Engineers to redouble their efforts so as to consolidate on the successes recorded and to be able to ensure that quacks and persons that engage in unprofessional conducts that jeopardize the prestigious Engineering profession are spotted out and clearly separated from the core professionals within the Engineering Profession.
"Therefore, on behalf of my family, the Management and Staff of Owerri Capital Development Authority, I congratulate all the Engineers working with OCDA in particular and all the Engineers working in Imo State at large on the occasion of this year's World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development marked today being the 4th day of March, 2022.
