The Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Health, Dr. Lina Okereke has sought support of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for the sensitization of Imo youths on illicit drug abuse.
The meeting which held at the NDLEA office in Abuja, had in attendance Dr. Ngozi Madubuike, Assistant Commander General of Narcotic (ACGN) & Director, Drug Demand Reduction Directorate, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency National Headquarters Abuja, and other management staff of the NDLEA.
The visit is a build up to the Drug Free World Africa (DFWA) program being organized by the office of the S.A on health to the Imo State Governor to make Imo youths shun drugs and other illicit substances abuse, especially mkpurummiri.
The program according to Dr. Linda will help put a stop to associated health problems including mental health and in more severe cases death.
Dr. Okereke took out time also to meet with Senator Frank Ibezim (SFI) who represents Imo North Senatorial District, at the National Assembly complex, Abuja. The meeting centered on saving Imo youths and children from the damage of Drugs and illicit subsistence abuse.
Recall that ImoFlash had reported that DRUG FREE WORLD AFRICA (DFWA) in conjunction with the office of the Special Adviser to the Imo State Government on Health, Dr Lina Olereke, NDLWA, JPDC, NMA, PSN, .LSN, seeks to through awareness programs return Imo state to her lost glory of a Drug Free State by completely eradicating drug abuse by youths in the State.
