Court dethrones Imo Monarch

A Magistrate Court sitting in Owerri on Monday 13 December 2021, dethroned Eze Adyssinnia Ogbuji of Obile Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State and installed Mr . Alphonsus Chibundu as the new Eze of the Community.

The former Monarch was dethroned based on certificate forgery. This followed a suit filled against him in the Magistrate Court Owerri by Eze Elect, Alphonsus Chibundu, with suit number how/316/2004.

The Court presided by her Lordship, Akunna Chidimma ruled that "All documents concerning the Ezeship tussle presented by Chief Abyssinnia are fake, starting from the Constitution of Obile autonomous community, to letter of Eze's recognition and signature of a former Secretary to the State Government of Imo state, Hon, I.M.O Umunna".

The Court thereby seized Chief Abyssina Ogbuji to operate as Eze Obile Autonomous Community and should not be addressed as His Royal Highness as from the day of the judgment.
