The announcement was officially made on the writer’s Instagram page. His debut novel titled WE WILL LIVE AGAIN, written over a span of five years, and described by the writer as a very personal story, will be published and distributed in summer of 2022 by the publishing firm.
We Will Live Again is a story about a family of four; a religious father who later gives up on his religion, a subservient mother, Chika who gradually reveals her defiance in ways unacceptable, and two sons, Woha and Okey who eventually turn into strangers. The family is forced to flee to their village at the onset of the Nigeria Civil War, where they eventually disintegrate. Narrated through the eyes of the first son, the novel is sprinkled with themes such as family, love, hatred, war, politics, and disunity. It is a story of disintegration, and then hope for a rebirth.
Griots Lounge, founded by Jide Aluka and Bibi Ukonu is headquartered in Manitoba, Canada and has franchises in Nigeria, USA and New Zealand, and has no doubts added a rare talent to their growing family of talented writers.
