Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria elects new President
The newly elected Archbishop of Owerri, Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji, who has been elected as the new President of the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria, CBCN, after the four years of Most Reverend Augustine Obiora Akubeze.
To assist Archbishop Ugorji as Vice President is, Archbishop Matthew Ndagoso of the Kaduna Archdiocese. The new CBN secretary is Bishop Donatus Ogun, OSA, of the Diocese of Uromi, while Bishop Peter Kayode Odetoyinbo of the Diocese of Abeokuta is the assistant secretary.
In addition to the archbishops, other bishops were also appointed to oversee the departments and departments of the Catholic Secretariat.
The new staff will lead the Assembly for the next four years.
