An argument that ensued between a bus conductor and a passenger identified as Tedus Ohawen has led to the death of the latter in Wobo Street, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Narrating the incident, an eyewitness and the Chief Security Officer of Diobu Vigilante Mile 3 unit, Godstime Ihunwo said that the passenger, Mr Ohawen who was identified as an indigene of Imo State was arguing with the conductor over his N50 balance when he was pushed out of the vehicle by the bus conductor and ran over by the driver who fled the scene.
However, both the fleeing driver and his bus conductor were apprehended at Mile 1 and presently detained at Mile 3 Police Station.
The youth president of Rumu elechi Community, Okpara Christian, confirmed the incident and said that the police had been able to calm down the situation as members of the public were almost becoming restive over the tragic incident.
Another eyewitness claimed that the argument was a result of N50 transport fare.
As at the time of filing this report, the Police Command’s spokesman, SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to confirm the incident.
